This colourful guest apartment in Vienna’s Josefstadt district was redesigned and upgraded with the aim of improving functionality while preserving its distinctive character. The existing jungle-themed wallpaper and playful aesthetic were retained as defining elements, forming the basis for a more coherent and usable living environment.

Several spatial adjustments helped improve the flow and practicality of the apartment. The bedroom layout was simplified with a lighter, modern wooden storage piece, better suited to the proportions and atmosphere of the room. A wall-mounted element was also introduced to complement the updated setup. A mirror placed above the bed enhances the sense of openness, reflecting natural light and visually expanding the room.

In addition, subtle decorative updates and changes to the textiles throughout the apartment helped create a more considered and finished feel without altering the core structure of the unit.

Together, these changes create a more balanced and liveable interior that still retains its playful character while feeling more composed and connected throughout.
