Located at the top of the iconic Grüne Zitadelle in Magdeburg, this one-of-a-kind apartment was redesigned and refined to function as a unique guest space.

Originally conceived as part of Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s architectural vision, the property unfolds across four levels, connected by a spiral staircase and complemented by three garden terraces.

Our task was to create a lively and dynamic interior while retaining selected existing furniture and working in harmony with the building’s characterful style. The apartment was adapted to accommodate up to seven guests.

Given the strong visual identity of both the exterior and interior architecture, the process required a careful and considered approach to ensure a coherent final result.

The interior is defined by a combination of soft tones, richer accents, expressive forms, and selected Hundertwasser artworks, creating a playful yet balanced atmosphere. Particular attention was also given to the choice and combination of textiles, focusing on colour, texture, and overall cohesion.

The result is an immersive space that offers a memorable experience for its guests.
